The Un-Birthday

I got a little flack today and I’m sure my parenting skills were questioned by some. What was so terrible? Well today was Ciaran’s 4th birthday but he was completely oblivious, and I didn’t remind him.

I know many of you are wondering why we didn’t celebrate today. Well he’s sick and just hasn’t been himself since before Halloween. I knew that if he was aware that his Birthday was today then he would be wondering when his party as happening, gifts, etc.

I know that some may not approve and feel “that every child deserves to celebrate on their official birthday” but I disagree. I think celebrating when he’s feeling better and he can enjoy himself more will be better for him.
